| Abstract | Integrated computational frameworks are developed to investigate the effect of micro- and meso-scale internal structures on the macroscopic anisotropic and asymmetric properties. The high-fidelity computational framework enables the evaluation of the isolated effects and relative importance of individual design parameters on macroscopic material properties, which may not be feasible or practical to obtain experimentally. For the macroscopic anisotropic and asymmetric properties of additively manufactured (AM) polymer composites, this study focuses on evaluating the individual effects of meso-scale porosity and local material anisotropy within each printed track on the overall macroscale anisotropy. Furthermore, the influence of residual stresses from the AM process on the mechanical properties of printed parts is investigated. For metals with a regular atomic arrangement, this seminar will explore an approach based on the crystal plasticity model. In particular, it will be examined how the slip systems of a single crystal are activated under given loading conditions and how this activation affects the symmetry of the single crystal. | Host | 이명규 교수 (02-880-7058) |
