Biography
Dr. Han was born in Seoul in 1974 and was educated until the master degree in Korea. He majored in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden and in
2014 received his Ph.D. in the field of ultrasound testing system. He became the member of Fraunhofer IKTS since October 2007.
Since 2015 he is the member of Korean Technology Advisory Group(K-TAG) which is coordinated by Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology(KIAT) and since 2018 he contributes as a steering committee of K-TAG.
Since 2018 he is a chair of the basic material section in Korean Expert Association on Materials Science and Technology in Europe(KEMST).
Since 2020 he became an external advisory group for Korea-Germany Technology Center at Achen University which is operated by KIAT.
Since 2023 he is in charge of managing with the Germany-Korea Cooperation Center at Fraunhofer IKTS in Dresden which covers a whole engineering area.
By leveraging his networking assets he generates joint research project between Korea and Germany 3 to 4 projects annually.
He was awarded from Fraunhofer Society for "Best Customer Acquisition for 2023 May" which achieved the best performance among 76 Fraunhofer institutes.

[Abstract]
프라운호퍼 세라믹응용기술연구소 (IKTS)는 고성능 세라믹 소재에 기반한 응용 연구를 수행하는 유럽 내 최대 규모 연구기관이다. 드레스덴에 본원과 분원이 있고, 헤름스도르프에 분원 한 곳이 더 소재해 있다. 2023년 3분기 기준 약 900명에 달하는 임직원으로 구성되며, 2022년 회개기준 독일 내 전체 76개의 프라운호퍼 연구소 중에서 상위 랭킹 2위에 위치해 있다. 9개의 사업 본부를 두고 있으며, 한국을 포함한 아시아 지역과의 신사업개발을 전담하고 있는 팀을 운영 중이다.
드레스덴에는 2023년 현재 11개의 프라운호퍼 연구소가 소재해 있으며, 그 중에 7개의 연구소가 소재와 관련된 연구를 수행하고 있으며, 독일 내 최고의 연구 도시로 각광을 받고 있다.
IKTS 연구소 외에 소재 관련된 타 프라운호퍼 연구소는 아래와 같다.

서울대 재료공학부와 프라운호퍼 연구소 드레스덴 클러스터 간 국제협력을 프라운호퍼 IKTS의 거점적인 역할 하에 최적화된 협력 모델을 제안하여, 양국의 연구 역량을 고도화시킬 수 있는 논의를 하고자 한다.
