* Biography
Daniel S. Correa is a full researcher at the Nanotechnology National Laboratory for Agriculture (LNNA) at Embrapa Instrumentation (São Carlos, SP-Brazil). He currently serves as the Head of the Research and Development Department of Embrapa Instrumentation and holds position as a collaborative faculty member in post-graduation programs at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and São Paulo University (USP). He has published more than 190 articles in scientific journals and is an Associate Editor of ACS Applied Polymer Materials. His research is focused on the development of polymers and composite (nano)materials for applications in agriculture, environment and biotechnology.

[Abstract]
In this seminar I will present and discuss how materials science and nanotechnology has been applied within EMBRAPA (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) research portfolio for harnessing solutions for agriculture and environmental sustainability. Results regarding the development of distinct types of sensors and biosensors, novel biomaterials, pollutant adsorption systems, as well as other potential applications will be presented
